Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she will decide this week whether to attend the Republican convention in Tampa next month.
"We'll have an announcement in a couple of days," she told a reporter for the
Tampa Bay Times Wednesday. “I don't know if we'll do anything fancy as a press conference, but we'll get the word out."
Palin made the comments poolside at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, where TV critics attended an NBC reception promoting its new fall programs. One of them is “Stars Earn Stripes,” a reality show starring Palin’s husband Todd. The show features celebrities doing military exercises.
Several Republican luminaries have called for Palin to serve as a speaker at the Aug. 27-30 convention. That includes South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint, former presidential candidate Newt Gingrich, and commentator Pat Buchanan.
