Adam Schiff Slaps Back at Trump's Twitter Attacks

CNN's "The Situation Room"

House Intelligence Committee Vice Chairman Adam Schiff on Tuesday ripped President Donald Trump's Twitter attacks as "beneath the dignity of the office."

"My impression was a character on 'Ghostbusters' that had just been slimed," the California Democrat told Wolf Blitzer on CNN. "The president is reduced to insults that you hear when you're in grade school."

Trump slammed Schiff, whose panel is also investigating Trump campaign ties to Russia, as "sleazy" and "totally biased."

Schiff then hit back, charging "the problem is how often you watch TV."

He told Blitzer on Tuesday that, in light of Trump's predecessors in the White House, "it troubles me to see this kind of thing going on.

"But it is what it is.

"I suppose it's a measure of the fact that the president views me as a threat."
