There was at least one lighthearted moment during the grilling of Apple CEO Tim Cook before a Senate subcommittee on Tuesday, reports
Business Insider.
"What I really wanted to ask is, why the hell do I have to keep updating the apps on my iPhone all the time, and why you don't fix that?" Arizona Republican John McCain asked Cook at the end of his testimony.
Cook laughed and responded, "Sir, we're trying to make them better all the time."
Some tech websites noted that iPhones are more annoying than Android phones, which can be set to update apps automatically.
The Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations had Cook at a hearing to ask about Apple's use of offshore tax shelters, avoiding $9 billion in tax payments.
Cook testified that all of Apple's actions were legal, a point Kentucky Republican Rand Paul agreed with when he ripped into his committee colleagues for investigating a company he said had done nothing wrong but comply with a tax code that needs to be overhauled.
