Trump: Taking Iraq's Oil Would Boost US Economy

Donald Trump says it is not necessary to cut social programs to reduce America’s debt and revitalize the economy — what is needed is for the United States to take Iraq’s oil before a U.S. military pullout — and before Iran does.
 

“The whole country is a mess — Iran is going to go into Iraq about 15 minutes after we leave and they’re going to take over the oil fields and they’re going to take over Iraq. — they don’t really want Iraq, they want the oil,” the real estate mogul told Fox News’ Neal Cavuto in an interview that aired Monday. “So if Iran’s going to take it over — and that’s a 100 percent as sure as you’re sitting there, $15 trillion worth of oil — that’s enough to solve our problems for a long time, right, two problems: money problems and oil problems.

“A lot of these projects that they’re talking about — there’s so much money out there — I don’t have to cut Medicaid. I don’t have to cut Medicare. I don’t have to cut Social Security,” Trump said. “We’re a bunch of foolish people led by either foolish or stupid people — this country needs the right kind of leader — and I'll tell you what: If we don’t get the right kind of leader, this country is in big trouble.”

Trump said he expects President Barack Obama will push for at least one more stimulus package to infuse trillions of dollars into the economy.
 

“What they’re doing is a short-term fix — when they pour all that money into the economy, it’s just a short-term fix, Neil — it’s not fixing anything,” he said. “What Obama’s doing by pouring this money into the economy, just pouring it in, has nothing to do with free market. It’s very scary for the next guy that’s going to be president.

“The problem is whether he’s the next president or somebody else is the next president, somebody’s going to have to pay the piper because what’s going on is unbelievable with that kind of money,” he said. “And I hear he’s not stopping — they’re talking about doing a two and they’re talking about doing a three.”

Cavuto asked Trump what he would do to revitalize the economy, instead of creating a new stimulus package.

“I would do a lot of things that would bring money into this country to start off with — I’m not looking big into Medicaid — you’re going to help people. I mean, you have to get people through life — and everybody’s afraid to mention the Medicare,” Trump said. “If we ran this country right, we could get so much money from Saudi Arabia.

“Think of this: Kuwait — they get taken over by Saddam Hussein — we go in, lose lives and spend billions of dollars, drive him back, and we hand the country back to the Arab sheiks. They paid us nothing,” he said. “And if you go to Kuwait today, they don’t want to invest in the United States because they say Asia is growing much faster.

“You win a country, you win a country —  you don’t fight a war and leave and then let some guy take over the country who hates the United States because that's what’s going to happen.”
