Carly Fiorina continued to shine a light on the possibly illegal abortion methods used by Planned Parenthood with a Thursday visit to The Carolina Pregnancy Center, a Christian health clinic in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
"It’s good when people know what 17 weeks look like," Fiorina told Lacey Thomas, an expecting mother who allowed the presidential candidate to accompany her during an ultrasound.
Fiorina stayed for roughly 10 minutes, discussing baby names, Thomas' husband, and Thomas' first child,
The New York Times reported.
The presidential candidate, whose visit follows those of Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, and Ted Cruz, thanked Thomas for allowing her and the cameras into the room.
"Oh, thank you," Thomas replied, adding that she was proud to demonstrate "the importance of life."
"The character of this nation cannot be about butchery of babies for body parts," Fiorina told supporters in the foyer of the CPC.
"Liberals and progressives will spend inordinate amounts of time and money protecting fish, frogs and flies. They do not think a 17-week-old, a 20-week-old, a 24-week-old is worth saving. This, ladies and gentlemen, is hypocrisy, and it goes to the core of the character of our nation."
In the wake of several undercover videos published by the Center for Medical Progress, Fiorina and other GOP presidential candidates have gone on the offensive, vowing to fight and defund Planned Parenthood,
CNN reported.
During the second Republican primary debate, Fiorina made headlines when she drew attention to the videos, daring President Obama and Hillary Clinton, "Watch a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain."
In the weeks following the debate, she released a campaign video featuring stock footage of a fetus on a medical table, interspersed with her call to action. She's also urged congress to mount a defunding effort against Planned Parenthood during the coming budget negotiations.
The Carolina Pregnancy Center retweeted many photos taken during Fiorina's visit, including one shot with an ultrasound printout.
