A line of pickup trucks flying Confederate flags crashed into each other earlier this week after being caught on camera by an unhappy onlooker in Dalton, Georgia.
The videographer angrily caught the parade of Confederate flag-yielding trucks on camera as he spewed a slur of profanities condemning the trucks’ controversial symbol. The man then predicted that what he deemed as karma would soon step in and the trucks would crash.
Sure enough, one truck soon hit another in a chain-reaction fender bender.
“Boom! Boom! I got that!” the unnamed camera man shouted.
“God don’t like ugly,” he continued, The Blaze reported.
The trucks had neglected to stop at an intersection that police appeared to be blocking off. The trucks then easily cruised by the gas station where the man shot the video. Police blocked off the
street specifically for the rally, said Raw Story.
“I wonder what kind of parade we can have? They get the roads blocked off,” the video’s maker says, angered by the incident.
A similar incident occurred in Virginia Beach last weekend when 12 or so pickup trucks drove through the area sporting the Civil War flag. Japharri Jones Hampton managed to capture the line of trucks driving down Atlantic Avenue. Jones claims the parade lasted for two hours until two of the cars crashed into each other.
“I want to be out enjoying myself and to have people out there yelling and screaming racial slurs, it’s not a good look,” Jones told News Channel 3.
“They’re screaming. They’re yelling and honking
their horns,” witness Angel Cook recalled to News Channel 3. “I was petrified, I was like what is going on?”
Witnesses say the truck drivers were also yelling racial slurs at people on the street.
The Confederate flag has become a controversial symbol since the Charleston church shooting earlier this month. Dylann Storm Roof, the shooter, had a Confederate flag license plate that many now associate with racism and the approval of slavery during the Civil War-era. Still, other Americans feel the flag is a symbol of South and an important artifact of American history that is no longer tied to racism.
