Remembering Mother Teresa: 10 Iconic Images Ahead of Canonization

Mother Teresa, the Nobel Peace Prize-winning nun who created a legacy by helping the poor, will be declared a saint by Pope Francis on Sunday in a canonization ceremony in the Vatican's St. Peter's Square.

Born in 1910 in what is now Skopje, Macedonia, Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu went on to become one of perhaps the most controversial figures in the church. She was beatified in 2003, six years after her death.

Here are 10 photos commemorating the life of soon-to-be Saint Teresa of Calcutta.
