Prior Lake, Minnesota, dad Brad Knudson posted a five-minute YouTube video this week about the racist bullying his African-American daughter was enduring, allegedly by twin boys, that is generating a social media uproar.
In the video, Knudson talks about Snapchat communications his daughter received that had racist comments in them, including the N-word, and his attempts to deal with the issue by contacting the school and the twins’ parents.
Knudson and his wife adopted their daughter 11 years ago.
Knudson said in the video he talked to the father of the alleged bullies and was told that the family uses "the word" in their talk around the house and it wasn’t a problem.
Then Knudson played a voicemail message he received from the father in which the man allegedly calls Knudson a "n— lover." In the video, Knudson also said that he told the man, whom he later identified as Deron Puro, that he was going to post this online and the man allegedly said that was fine.
Puro, an independent contractor at a financial firm, was no longer at his job as of Wednesday, the company
said in an announcement.
The Internet community blasted Puro, and his telephone number and address were published online.
A Reddit thread about Puro and Knudson said Puro’s Facebook page was taken down. One person wrote, “RIP Deron Puro's (racist dad) Facebook inbox.”
Prior Lake-Savage Area school officials are investigating the incident and told Fox 9 they are trying to determine whether the bullying incidents occurred one time or had been ongoing.
