Greece Could Be Banished From Eurozone

We’ve all seen the tone deaf magazine photo shoot of Greek Finance Minister, Yanis Varoufakis, and his wife sitting at their balcony table set for a king, sipping a crisp white wine, while the Greek people suffer terribly. This dichotomy is the perfect representation of the Greek financial crisis. For at the end of the day, the new leftist Syriza government is acting as Marxists always do — irresponsibly.

My sources tell me that the Greek people don’t want to leave the Eurozone. They don’t even want a referendum. I’m told most Syriza Party members don’t want a snap election.

The spectacle you are seeing now is simply the result of lies told the Greek people in order for Syriza to obtain power. Syriza told the Greek people what they wanted to hear.

They told the Greeks they could have everything for free. They told them they wouldn’t have to pay back all the money they borrowed. They told them they could have their cushy government jobs and fat pensions and they would no longer have to deal with this austerity.

Sound familiar? This is what all leftist governments do. They lie. As Lenin so famously said, “A lie told often enough becomes the truth.”

Now Syriza is acting like a deer in the headlights. The people want their free stuff but there is no money. Prime Minister Tsipras is threatening, lying, reneging, and basically throwing an epic temper tantrum because he can’t get what he wants.

The government’s latest threat is to release thousands of migrant workers that have been caged in Southern Greece for long periods of time, into northern Europe. Greece is also threatening to cozy up with Vladimir Putin.

Greece is a member of NATO, and this adds to the quagmire. The nation’s actions show the government has no intention of living up to the conditions and responsibilities of being an alliance member. Again, typical leftist irresponsibility.

I am sure Putin would love to drive a wedge into NATO’s southern flank. I’m NOT sure that the Greek people would be happy with the result.

The Greek economic system is corrupt and would probably fit right in with Russia’s similar set-up. However, in the long-run, the Greek people would not be better off. The rule of law would suffer as well as economic growth under an economic union with Russia.

Although a very good argument can be made that Greece needs to default and start over, starting over under the Russian umbrella is not the way forward. But who worries about the people anyway?

As with the liberals in America, it’s all about power, not the condition the people really are living in. Hence the destruction of the middle class, reductions in income, and growing inequality under the Obama administration.

From what I hear out of Greece, the people are growing restless, especially the wealthy class. If Greece is forced out of the Eurozone, even their lives will be negatively affected. I am even hearing that Finance Minister Varoufakis’ life could be at risk if Syriza forces a default. The Greek people realize they have to continue taking a bite of the lemon.

It’s only a matter of time before the people force Syriza to realize that as well.
