Fox's Gutfeld: Real Hollywood Radicals Are Pro-Lifers

By    |   Thursday, 23 January 2014 06:45 PM EST

On the heels of comedian Sarah Silverman releasing a video in which she and Jesus — portrayed by actor Michael Weatherly, who plays Tony DiNozzo on the hit show "NCIS" — tout pro-choice policies, Fox News commentator Greg Gutfeld mused about how Hollywood would treat the abortion argument if they opposed it.

"You'd have a movie called 'Six Months a Fetus.' You'd have 'The Fetal Monologues,'" Gutfeld said Thursday on Fox News Channel's discussion show "The Five," which he co-hosts.

But don't expect any such productions, he said, because members of the "artistic class" are "a predictable cog in a machine that is designed to extract humanity from humanity."

A fetus is not really a living thing to them, he said, but "a tumor with fingers and legs who stands between you and your aspirations and career."

Artists like to portray themselves as living on the edge, Gutfeld said, "but the real radical rebel these days is a pro-lifer in pop culture."

Co-hosts Kimberly Guilfoyle, Eric Bolling, Dana Perino, and resident liberal Bob Beckel found the Silverman video in poor taste. Beckel said he left several pro-choice boards when he became a Christian and found it didn't square with his faith.
