Boris Epshteyn, the Trump administration staffer who oversees the television appearances of its surrogates, is departing, according to several news reports Saturday.
But the reason behind his leaving was not immediately clear.
The New York Times reported that Epshteyn was let go, with one top White House official saying that they were investigating other opportunities within the administration.
Epshteyn, who met Donald Trump Jr. when they both attended Georgetown University, appeared on television frequently during the presidential campaign.
News reports have indicated that Epshteyn has had combative relationships with television news producers and other staffers, The Hill reports.
According to Politico earlier this month, Epshteyn had threatened to withhold Trump surrogates from Fox News, after a network booker asked him about the president's travel ban executive order.
