One way to help heal the racial divide in America is bringing more jobs home from overseas, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Monday.

"One of the things that you have got to do is get the country working again. Create jobs," the billionaire businessman told Fox News Channel's "On the Record with Greta Van Susteren."

"Take jobs away from China. Take jobs away from Mexico and all the other places that are taking our jobs."

He went on to call Obama's Trade Promotion Authority "a disaster for jobs in our country. We should not have it ... The fact is Obama is not a negotiator. The last person I want negotiating for me is President Obama."

Trump said real unemployment is at 20 percent or higher, and while there are other contributors, such as family and education, providing jobs to people is an important component.

"Jobs is something we can really do something about quickly," he said.

President Barack Obama has done nothing to improve race relations, Trump said.

"You would have thought with an African-American president at a minimum you would have thought he would have been a cheerleader for the country, and frankly it would have been a lot better. It hasn't worked out very well," he said. "It's as bad as it has ever been."

Trump opposes the Trade Promotion Authority bill currently before Congress and has said that any of the senators running for president who vote for it should be disqualified from the race.

"That is really a bad thing," Trump told Van Susteren. "That trade pact is a disaster for jobs in our country."

He said the current legislation does not properly address currency manipulation, which, in the past, he has accused China of doing. It also covers too big an area, he said.

"We should do individual agreements with individual countries," Trump said. "It's absolutely a disaster for the country and a disaster for business and jobs."
