Harvard University has yanked the admissions offers of 10 students after officials at the Ivy League school found sexually and racially offensive messages and memes they had traded on Facebook.

One messaging group called itself "Harvard memes for horny bourgeois teens," while others mocked sexual assault, the Holocaust, and the abuse of children, including a reference to the hanging of a Mexican child as "piñata time," The Harvard Crimson reports.

A college spokesperson refused to discuss the newspaper report, stating: "We do not comment publicly on the admissions status of individual applicants."

The students who made the offensive remarks contacted each other using the official Harvard College Class of 2021 Facebook group, The Crimson said.

It's the second time Harvard has had to deal with an online controversy involving incoming students.

Last spring, The Crimson reported, some admitted members of the Class of 2020 traded jokes about race and mocked feminists, prompting two deans to condemn their actions.
