Democrat Hillary Clinton has jumped to a 7-point lead over Republican rival Donald Trump, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports poll released on Monday.

The results:

  • Clinton: 45 percent;
  • Trump: 38 percent;
  • Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson: 7 percent;
  • Green Party candidate Jill Stein: 2 percent;
  • Undecided: 5 percent;
  • Other candidate: 3 percent.

Clinton and Trump were in a virtual tie on Friday — 43 percent to 42 percent — before the release of the 11-year-old video in which Trump made lewd comments about women. This marks Clinton biggest lead over Trump in the Rasmussen poll since August of last year.

The latest poll was conducted after the release of the tape, but before Sunday night's second presidential debate.

Eighty percent of those surveyed say they are certain how they will vote. Among those, Clinton holds a 51 percent to 45 percent advantage. Among those who could still change their mind, Clinton leads 43 percent to both Trump and Johnson at 25 percent and Stein at 7 percent.

Other results from the poll include:

  • Trump leads among independents, with 37 percent supporting him, opposed to only 31 percent for Clinton;
  • Clinton has pulled even with Trump among male voters at 42 percent each, after the Republican candidate had led in this category by wide margins in previous surveys;
  • Among women, Clinton leads 49 percent to 35 percent.

The survey of 1,500 likely voters was conducted on Oct. 5-6 and 9 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 2.5 percentage points. The survey is updated daily Monday through Friday based on a three-day rolling average.
