Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo knocked Gov. Kathy Hochul and told The New York Times in an interview Tuesday that he wouldn't have resigned as governor if he could do it again.
"If I had to do it again, I wouldn't have resigned. At the time, I thought that I would be a distraction to government functionality, that they would all be involved in impeachment proceedings, blah, blah, blah. Looking back, what has really been done in the last four years, anyway, right?" Cuomo said.
The Times' portrait of Cuomo comes amid his soft campaign for New York City mayor.
When pressed about his thoughts on Hochul, Cuomo backpedaled on what she's done for the state in the last four years.
"It sounds like you don't think your successor, Gov. Kathy Hochul, has done that," the Times suggested.
"Well, you can judge the record of accomplishment of the past four years," Cuomo replied.
