Early Sunday morning, just hours after North Korea detonated a thermonuclear device in its sixth and most powerful nuclear test to date, President Donald Trump took to Twitter condemning the blast as "hostile and dangerous" to the United States.

In a series of tweets, Trump wrote:

"North Korea has conducted a major Nuclear Test. Their words and actions continue to be very hostile and dangerous to the United States.....

"..North Korea is a rogue nation which has become a great threat and embarrassment to China, which is trying to help but with little success.

"South Korea is finding, as I have told them, that their talk of appeasement with North Korea will not work, they only understand one thing!"

According to the Assosicated Press, North Korea called the test a "perfect success."

Though the precise strength of the blast has yet to be determined, the artificial earthquake it caused was several times stronger than tremors generated by its previous tests. It reportedly shook buildings in China and in Russia.

In recent weeks, North Korea has tested several ballistic missiles which Trump has condemned saying "They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen."

Noting that China could easily solve this problem, Trump has previously put pressure on that country to rein in North Korea and has been "disappointed" in their inaction.

"I am very disappointed in China. Our foolish past leaders have allowed them to make hundreds of billions of dollars a year in trade, yet they do NOTHING for us with North Korea, just talk," Trump wrote in a pair of tweets. "We will no longer allow this to continue. China could easily solve this problem!"
