Scandal-scarred Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore darkly predicted Tuesday that Kentucky GOP Sen. Mitch McConnell's leadership will soon be over, vowing "the fight has just begun."

The tweet followed an earlier post with the hashtag #DitchMitch.

Moore's tweet attacks come as the former Alabama Supreme Court chief justice faces allegations of sexual misconduct in the 1970s, which he has denied.

McConnell, who last week said that Moore should step aside if the allegations are true, on Monday said he believes Moore's accusers.

For his part, Moore has the backing of Breitbart News official and former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon, a critic of McConnell.
