White House press secretary Sarah Sanders called out a former Hillary Clinton spokesman for being happy that her campaign worked with a firm to produce a scandalous, unverified dossier on Donald Trump.

Sanders tweeted this Saturday morning:

Sanders' mention of the spokesman being "damn glad" came after former Clinton campaign aide Brian Fallon spoke with The Washington Post about the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton campaign paying for the dossier.

Clinton campaign lawyer Marc Elias "is known as one of the most skilled professionals in Democratic politics, in addition to being the party's top election lawyer," Fallon said. "I am damn glad he pursued this on behalf of our campaign and only regret more of this material was not verified in time for the voters to learn it before the election."

It's still unclear who saw the Trump dossier, which contained unverified claims about his alleged relationship with Russia, before the election last fall. The document was eventually made public by BuzzFeed News in January.

It was reported Friday night that The Washington Free Beacon, a right-leaning news organization, originally hired the firm that produced the dossier. After it called off the investigation in Trump's background in May 2016, the DNC and Clinton's campaign picked it up.
