Conservative commentator Ann Coulter slammed opponents of President Donald Trump's latest immigration plan, telling Newsmax TV that the want cheaper labor at the cost of good jobs for American citizens.
Trump's announcement last week that he wants to restrict legal immigration was the fulfillment of a campaign promise, Coulter said Monday on "The Howie Carr Show."
Those who say immigrants are needed to do the jobs Americans won't simply want "more and more cheap workers coming in so they can pay their workers less and less and less," she said.
"Americans are used to having good-paying manufacturing jobs and now are stuck in much, much lower wage service industries," Coulter continued. "It really is the elites against the people. It's not conservative-liberal anymore, it is the people who want cheaper and cheaper maids and gardeners versus the ones who want their fellow Americans to have good jobs."

"Whining farmers" who say they can't afford machines to pick crops such as strawberries shouldn't complain, Coulter said. "Yeah, it's expensive if you're going to do it out of the goodness of your heart in order not to burden the rest of America with your cheap labor and the cost of their food stamps and housing aid and everything else. But if you can no longer get your cheap guest workers, then everybody growing strawberries is going to get the strawberry-picking robot."
