Fox News host Bill O'Reilly and his guest Laura Ingraham got into a heated shouting match over another leading conservative pundit – Rush Limbaugh – and O'Reilly's use of the phrase “bible-thumpers.”
Last week, O'Reilly commented on his show that gay marriage opponents need to do more than “thump the Bible” to get the issue defeated, a comment to which Ingraham took offense.
She told the talk show host that he was wrong to refer to Limbaugh as a bible-thumper, and was insulting to Christians with the phrase.

O'Reilly interrupted Ingraham quickly, insisting that he and Limbaugh were not feuding, and denying he insulted conservative Christians, telling Ingraham, “Laura, I'm disappointed in you tonight.”

He also denied he insulted Christians who believe in the Bible, saying that he used the word “thump” to get his point across.
And when Ingraham said she didn't think his comments helped, and to not be mad at her because she was repeating people's concerns, O'Reilly told her he wasn't on television to help.
"Of all the conservative radio hosts, you have the most common sense — of all of them,” O'Reilly said. “But you bought into this garbage, and I'm disappointed."
