Trump Pushes Laffer's Call for Bipartisan Tax Reform Support

President Donald Trump, pushing hard for tax reform, called attention to renowned economist Art Laffer's comments about how difficult it would be for Democrats to vote against tax package.

Trump's comments came in the form of a tweet on Monday morning:

Art Laffer just said that he doesn't know how a Democrat could vote against the big tax cut/reform bill and live with themselves! @FoxNews

Laffer is a former economic adviser to President Ronald Reagan. His comments came during an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Fox Business.

"I think a lot of Democrats and Republicans — even like John McCain — should clearly support this bill," Laffer said. "I'm hoping the Democrats vote with it. They should vote with it. They believe in it.

"But we'll have to see. It's coming soon."

And he added: "It's just got to be done bipartisan."
