Elon Musk's father said the public social media feud between his billionaire son and Donald Trump will "fizzle out in a few days" and called Elon Musk's comment linking the president to Jeffrey Epstein "a mistake."
Speaking exclusively to Al Arabiya English, Errol Musk described his son and Trump as "elephant bulls or alphas having a go at each other" and called the personal attacks "a bit silly."
What began as a disagreement about Trump's "big, beautiful bill" versus Elon Musk's concerns about the national debt quickly descended into personal attacks.
Things took a more serious turn when Elon Musk posted on X, "Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!"
Moments later, he posted: "Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out."
"When people have been through a great deal of stress, ... eventually people reach a point where they lash out," the elder Musk told the outlet. "Even at the highest levels, people struggle to find common ground."
When asked why his son would accuse the president of being one Jeffery Epstein's clients, Errol Musk answered, "I have no idea what he was thinking ... I can only imagine that's just a silly mistake."
After he said the feud was the result of stress, Errol Musk was then asked if he hoped the two men eventually work it out for the betterment of the country.
"Yes, of course," he said. "I did send him a message ... telling him, make sure this fizzles out."
