Fifty-one percent of Democrats now have a favorable opinion of former President George W. Bush, a new poll by The Economist/YouGov. reveals.
Here is how the poll breaks down:
- 14 percent of Democrats have a very favorable opinion of the former president; 37 percent have a somewhat favorable opinion; 29 percent have a somewhat unfavorable opinion; and 13 percent have a very unfavorable opinion.
- 32 percent of Republicans view him very favorably; 44 percent somewhat favorably; 16 percent somewhat unfavorably and 6 percent very unfavorably.
- 10 percent of independents have a very favorable opinion; 32 percent somewhat favorable; 22 percent somewhat unfavorable and 18 percent very unfavorable.
The poll, conducted Oct. 22-24, surveyed 1,500 adults and has a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points.
The survey came after a Bush speech criticizing President Donald Trump's policies, The Hill noted.
