Nearly 6.5 out of 10 people who voted for President Donald Trump say The New York Times is "untrustworthy," with The Washington Post right on its heels at 54 percent, according to the latest Economist/YouGov poll.
Further, 36 percent say the Times is "very untrustworthy" with the Post coming in at 29 percent.
Other results, according to the YouGov survey:
- 12 percent of Trump voters think the NYT is trustworthy.
- 14 percent say the Post is trustworthy.
- 54 percent say Fox News is trustworthy.
- 33 percent say Breitbart is trustworthy.
Those numbers dovetail into approval of how the president has handled the media, according to YouGov:
- 73 percent of Trump voters approve of how he has handled the media.
- 78 percent of Trump voters disapprove of how the media has treated Trump.
- 33 percent of the general public approves of Trump's handling of the media.
- 51 percent of the general public disapprove of Trump's treatment of the media.
