Rep. Jim Jordan praised President Donald Trump's tax plan Friday, telling Newsmax TV that "any tax cut… should first actually cut taxes."
"This is what we said at the Freedom Caucus," the Ohio Republican and a founder of the group of conservative party members, told Miranda Khan on "America Talks Live" in an interview.

"Second is simplify the tax code — and, third, it should foster an environment, produce a code that is conducive to getting us economic growth to creating jobs.
"That is what this framework that's been outlined actually accomplishes — and that's why we're for it," Jordan said.
Trump announced his budget blueprint Wednesday in Indianapolis hours after Republican congressional leaders presented the outline on Capitol Hill.
"Lowering the corporate rate and letting businesses keep more of their money — as they reinvest and hire new people and give pay raises, too, and increase wages — that's all positive," Jordan told Khan.
"Lowering the rate for small-business owners to 25 percent, which is part of the framework of this plan.
"Lowering the personal rate on the personal side of the ledger is critical," he added. "It's letting families keep more of their money.
"This is a good framework."
But Jordan cautioned: "The most important thing is, though, let's get it passed now.
"Let's get it finalized and passed in the House and through the Senate and actually make it go into effect for the American people."
