Gorka: Trump's White House Doesn't Support MAGA Agenda

(Fox News)

Sebastian Gorka, who left the White House last weekend as a national security aide to President Donald Trump, said he doesn't want to "feed the palace intrigue stories" when it comes to responding to chief economic adviser Gary Cohn and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, and he's concerned Trump is surrounding himself by people who don't share his agenda.

"That's why I resigned," Gorka told Fox News' "Fox and Friends" program. "It was the greatest honor of my life to serve for the president inside the White House. But the president reached out to me after I resigned on Saturday. He thanked me for my service, and he also said he is sticking to his agenda. He wants me to help him on the outside especially in the media to support him. That's exactly what I'm going to do."

Trump is a fighter who won't give up, and "sooner or later, the right people are going to be around him," Gorka continued.

Meanwhile, Gorka said he would not be commenting on Cohn and Tillerson, both of whom criticized Trump for his statements on the Charlottesville protests.

"Having been the brunt of them for seven months, I don't like to feed the palace intrigue stories. I will allow the words of Gary Cohn and Rex Tillerson to stand for themselves."

However, Gorka ripped into Tillerson on Monday, telling Fox News' Brian Kilmeade that he doesn't "expect counter-terrorism expertise from a former oil industry mogul."

Gorka on Tuesday also hit back at a White House statement that said he hadn't resigned his post, but that he no longer worked for the administration.

The former security aide has released the full text of his resignation letter through Breitbart News, after The Federalist posted part of the document last week.

In the lengthy letter, Gorka said he was leaving because outside of Trump, "the individuals who most embodied and represented the policies that will "Make America Great Again," have been internally countered, systematically removed, or undermined in recent months. This was made patently obvious as I read the text of your speech on Afghanistan this week."

"One of the reasons is that the MAGA platform, the Make America Great platform that brought us into the White House, there are a lot of people in that building who really don't agree with it and won't associate with it," said Gorka. "That's why I left so we can support the president from the outside because that's why he was elected, and he is not going to give up."

But Gorka said people now on the outside of the White House such as he and Steve Bannon, who has returned to his former post at Breitbart, "are going to support him to the fullest."

Gorka also commented about who he thinks is leaking information from the White House, repeating he doesn't "like to give in to the palace intrigue," but saying he believes the "really damaging stuff, the 125 national security leaks in the first six months, as far as I'm concerned, those are coming from Obama holdovers."

"We have a massive amount of holdovers who do not agree with this president and don't understand that as a government civil servant, you serve the president, not your own agenda," said Gorka. "That's what I think is the source."
