Donald Trump continued to push back Sunday against the "dangerous and sick" media as the "Enemy of the People" via Twitter, tweeting "they can also cause war" and they sow discord in America — as they admonish Russia for doing.

Trump's tweet pointed the finger at the divisive attacking news media as they "purposely cause great division & distrust."

Earlier this week, Ivanka Trump was asked at an Axios event whether she believed the media to be the "enemy of the people." President Trump's daughter responded, "no."

President Trump did support his daughter's response, to stay above the fray, but it did not stop her father from digging right back in that night.

CNN's Jim Acosta, the veritable face of the media resistance to the U.S. president and his administration, got into an exchange with the White House press secretary Sarah Sanders on Thursday.

"As far as I know, I'm the first press secretary in the history of the United States that's required Secret Service protection," she said, accusing the media of continuing "to ratchet up the verbal assault against the president and everyone in this administration."

". . . The media has attacked me personally on a number of occasions, including your own network, CNN," she told Acosta. She also cited the comedian who performed at the annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner, saying the comic was brought in "to attack my appearance and call me a traitor to my own gender."
