Clash Looms: CEO Insists Trump Lacks Authority to Strip PBS, NPR Funding

The public broadcasting head issued a statement after Trump signed an executive order that cut funding to PBS and NPR over bias claims. "Congress directly authorized and funded [the Corporation for Public Broadcasting] to be a private nonprofit corporation wholly independent of the federal government," the statement said.
