Alec Baldwin poked fun at himself with George Trumpington, a new presidential impersonation he debuted Thursday to the public.
In the video, which was filmed to promote Spike TV’s upcoming "One Night Only: Alec Baldwin," the actor wears an ensemble, including wig and frock coat, to resemble George Washington. However, adding a comic twist to the skit, Baldwin adopts characteristics that are blatantly reminiscent of President Donal Trump.
"It’s me, George Washington — the guy who made America great the first time," Baldwin addresses viewers in the video clip.
"People didn’t know I talk like this, but it’s true. I cannot tell a lie- this is how I sound," he adds, referring to his Trump–like speech patterns.
Alec goes on to make fun of various topics, including himself, stating:
"I created this terrific, incredible country for everybody, even the haters and the losers, like Alec Baldwin, so that he could have the freedom to insult the president."
A carefully crafted marketing campaign has been created around the hype of "One Night Only: Alec Baldwin," which will air on Sunday, July 9.
Leading up to the premier, a series of videos have been posted across various platforms, giving audiences a glimpse of what to expect.
Amongst these are clips of Hilaria and Ireland Baldwin unashamedly roasting Alec.
The tribute to Baldwin's career also will include appearances by Robert De Niro, Julianna Moore, Tracy Morgan, Horatio Sanz, Entertainment Weekly reported.
Former President Bill Clinton also paid tribute to Baldwin, according to The Daily Beast.
