Numerous James Bond actors said farewell this week to Roger Moore, one of the most popular actors to play the role.
Moore, 86, who was the longest running James Bond – seven films from 1973 to 1985 – died Monday after "a short but brave battle with cancer," on Monday in Switzerland, family told the Daily Mail. Here are what the former James Bonds had to say of Moore.
1. Sean Connery, who played in five 007 movies, told the Daily Mail he will miss his long friendship with Moore.
"I was very sad to hear of Roger's passing, we had an unusually long relationship by Hollywood standards, that was filled with jokes and laughter. I will miss him.
2. Pierce Brosnan, who portrayed the secret agent four times, including "The World is Not Enough" and "Die Another Day," shared a message on Instagram, saying of Moore, "the world will miss you and your unique sense of humor for years to come."
3. George Lazeby, who played Bond in1969's "On Her Majesty's Secret Service," told Express he did not know Moore as well as the other actors but felt his presence.
"He was one of the good guys and will be missed by many," Lazeby told the Express. "I know he was loved by his family and many others."
4. Daniel Craig, the last person to play James Bond, including the 2015's "Spectre," posted a tribute to Moore on Instagram, saying "Nobody Does It Better."
