Kip and Nicole Macy, known in San Francisco as the "landlords from hell" for criminal acts against their tenants and then fleeing to Italy to escape a 2010 plea deal, entered new guilty pleas Tuesday that would send them to prison for more than four years.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that as part of the Macys' plea deal with San Francisco Superior Court Judge Judge Kay Tsenin, the couple agrees to be sentenced in August to four years and four months each for residential burglary, felony stalking and attempted grand theft.

In 2010, the couple turned down a plea deal that would have sent them to jail for a year, according the Chronicle. After turning down that deal, the couple fled to Italy where they were arrested in 2012, wrote the Chronicle. They spent a year fighting extradition.
Still, Kip Macy's attorney Lisa DewBerry called the proposed sentences "not out of bounds,” the Chronicle wrote.
According to The Associated Press, prosecutors said in court Wednesday that the Macys threated to shoot tenants, cleared apartments of their belongings and reported legal tenants as trespassers in their own units, all with the purpose of driving them out so they could charge new tenants higher rent.
Prosecutors contended that while property in the South of Market area, where the Macys' building is located, increased, city restrictions forced the couple to hold rent steady for existing tenants, The Associated Press reported.
The crimes, which district attorney George Gascon said sounded like a "plot line of a horror movie," included twice using a power saw to cut holes in the floor of one victim's living room to make it structurally unsound, cutting utility lines, destroying property and threatening to have some tenants deported, according to the AP.
The San Francisco Chronicle wrote that prosecutors also accused Nicole Macy of breaking into a tenant’s place and pouring ammonia on clothes, bedding and home electronics.
The Macys' plea deals also qualify as two strikes each under California's "three strike law," meaning Kip or Nicole Macy could spend the rest of their life in prison if convicted of another felony, reported the Chronicle.
