A woman seeking an advertising agency intern spot created a Lego résumé — including a mini Lego figure of herself complete with instructions — as a way to stand out during the application process. Stand out she did, and her creative advertising-like approach to her résumé is going viral.
The woman, identified only as Leah from photos of the Lego cover she posted online,
said on her Reddit account, “I wanted a fun way to stand out to agencies and get my resume out of the trash can — I've always loved LEGO and I created this set to highlight my creativity, skills and initiative! It's something I hope to be able to send out along with a job application. I started by designing myself in my interview suit as a miniscale figure.”

The supporting photos of her mini Lego figure offer ad agencies the information they need to hire her. On one page, Leah wrote, “Build the perfect Account Service intern. New for 2014!”
In their typical, sometimes brutal fashion, Reddit users critiqued the photos of Leah’s work and wondered how effective such a presentation would be. The comments led Leah to publish an addendum to her original post, “I should mention that I am not a graphic designer, nor am I applying for a graphic design job. The poster pictured is not my resume, but rather a specific piece in response to a request by a specific agency to ‘create a piece of persuasive advertising with you as the product.’”
She also pointed out that she has a “real resume” to submit for positions.
