Rob Lowe is the new KFC Colonel Sanders, and for those wondering — "How many is that?" — the actor is now the eighth celebrity to play the iconic character.

KFC announced Friday that the "Parks and Recreation" actor is set to make his debut as the new colonel on Sunday, but he won’t be dressed in the usual white suit with the black string tie, according to USA Today. He’ll be wearing a spacesuit instead.

Lowe will be promoting KFC’s Zinger chicken sandwich, a white meat sandwich that is double hand-breaded and fried and can be purchased by itself or as part of the $5 Fill Up combo meal.

This comes after the spicy sandwich had success overseas for more than three decades.

The 53-year-old Lowe, who has appeared in DirecTV commercials, said this is a special opportunity for him, considering that his grandfather took him to meet the original Colonel Harland Sanders years ago when he was a young lad.

"My grandfather was the head of the Ohio chapter of the National Restaurant Association in the 1960s and took me to meet Colonel Harland Sanders when I was a kid," Lowe said, according to USA Today. "It was a big deal. I thought this would be a nice homage to both Colonel Sanders and to my grandfather."

In the new advertisement, Lowe can be seen dressed as an astronaut, saying "Can you actually launch KFC’s world-famous Zinger sandwich into space?" Fortune noted.

"The answer is: we certainly hope so. Our entire marketing campaign depends on it," Lowe says in the ad.
