This week, 19-year-old Haley appeared on "Dr. Phil" and said she believes she's pregnant with baby Jesus and will soon give birth.
The teen’s mother, Kristi, and other family members told the show Haley is a "compulsive liar" and is not pregnant, however. Multiple pregnancy tests have come up negative.
Still, Haley insists she is really pregnant.
“My family, my friends, my pastors at church, they don’t believe that I’m pregnant, but I know it’s Jesus,” she said on the show. “I know my pregnancy is real. I’ve gained at least 22 pounds.”
Haley's mother asked for Dr. Phil’s help to deal with the adamant teen.
“I can’t keep living like this,” Kristi said. “We have to treat her like she’s actually pregnant to avoid conflict.”
Haley also has claimed the rapper Eminem is her father, that she had been a contestant on "American Idol," and that she donated a kidney to her sick older brother when she was very young.
The teen does have a rounded stomach, but tests have not shown any evidence of pregnancy.
At one point in the show, Dr. Phil asks Haley whether she believes she has paranoid schizophrenia. She says that she does, but her family believes she’s just a pathological liar. The show didn’t seem to reach a conclusive diagnosis.
“I don’t care what the home pregnancy test or a doctor says, when I give birth to my baby, no one is going to deny him because he’s my savior,” Haley told Dr. Phil.
