Some tickets for Hillary Clinton's book tour will cost more than $2,000, Fox News reported.

The former Democratic presidential nominee will be speaking on Sept. 28 in Toronto, Canada, where a "VIP platinum ticket" will cost $2,375.95, according to the report.

That ticket includes two front-row seats, a signed copy of Clinton's book "What Happened," and a chance to take a photo with Clinton backstage.

Simon & Schuster, the Clinton book publisher, noted that the price was not unusual. The book will be released Sept. 12.

A spokesman Wednesday said that it was "customary" for locations to charge for tickets to high-profile writers' appearances, Fox News reported.

"Tickets typically include a book. Such was the case with tours for recent books by Megyn Kelly, Bob Gates, and any number of public personalities. Lecture venues have become a central component of book tours for public figures," Cary Goldstein, Simon & Schuster executive director of publicity, told Fox News.

Clinton's book tour will include Florida, California, Michigan, Illinois, New York, Wisconsin, Georgia, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Washington state, Oregon and Canada. Ticket prices will range from $50 and up.

VIP tickets to a Nov. 1 Clinton event in New York are $750.

In a news release about the tour, Simon & Schuster said that Clinton's story is "personal, raw, detailed and surprisingly funny."

"For the first time, Hillary Clinton reveals what she was thinking and feeling during one of the most controversial and unpredictable presidential elections in history," the publisher's statement said about the book.
