The beautiful state of Nebraska, located almost in the center of America, has several excellent universities, colleges, and other institutions that provide education in diverse areas of study. Many of these institutions have made it to the list of top universities of America.
 
University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) is among the best institutions in Nebraska. Founded in 1869, the school has over 18,000 students pursuing education in 140 different subjects of study. The University of Nebraska has been recognized as one of the top universities for doctoral studies and research. Known not only for academic excellence but also for its support to sports and athletics, this university ranks as the 91st premier institution of the world.
 
University of Nebraska at Kearney was founded in the early 19th century as a teachers college. This is one of the top institutions of Nebraska with over 7,000 undergraduates. It joined the Nebraska system of universities in the late nineteenth century. This university is renowned for producing about a third of the teacher and administrator population of Nebraska.
 
Bellevue University was founded in mid-nineteenth century. It is known as one of the rapidly growing institutions in the state of Nebraska. Creighton University, now one of the top colleges of Nebraska, has been recognized as the fifth most wired campus in the country. This university currently has over 7,000 undergraduate students enrolled. Dentistry is a popular subject at this university, and clinical instructions in dentistry have brought several accolades by UNO to this university.
 
University of Nebraska at Omaha is one of the top career colleges of Nebraska. This college has also been featured as one of the top ten entrepreneurial colleges of America in the Entrepreneur magazine. Currently, this university has over 15,000 undergraduate students pursuing education in several streams of study.
