Some Bible prophecy advocates interpret Scripture's Book of Revelation as having predicted — and warned about — the rise of Bitcoin, a form of digital currency.

According to Scripture, during the "tribulation years" the international economic system will undergo a radical and massive shift to a one-world government, with the anti-Christ using a one-world currency to gain economic control worldwide.
