Box Office Mojo, an Internet Movie Database company, has rated the top 200 movies of all time (in all genres, including classic animated films) based upon box office revenue, and adjusted to reflect today’s rate of inflation. Here are the top 10 classic animated movies that made the most money.
All the top 10 films have the distinction of being created by Walt Disney Studios.
1. “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” (1937)
Walt Disney's first animated film is the No. 10 movie of all time in all genres, and has box office receipts at $904 million. The Academy Awards recognized the film with an honorary award in the 1939.

2. “101 Dalmatians” (1961)
The dog tale has receipts of $829 million and is ranked the 11th film of all time in all genres. The movie was redone in 1996 as a live-action film and has also been transformed into a musical.
3. “Fantasia “(1940)
The sound-and-sight extravaganza has $689 million in receipts and ranks 22 out of the top 200 movies. Just like other classic animated films, "Fantasia" has been re-released in several different variations of the original, although most productions kept the original music and animations.
4. “The Jungle Book “(1967)
Based on Rudyard Kipling's classic Mowgli tales, the film's $611 million in revenues and ranks No. 30 on the all time list in terms of box office revenue. The film received one Oscar nomination and was re-released in 1994.
5. “Sleeping Beauty” (1959)
"Sleeping Beauty" ranks No. 31 and earned $603 million in receipts. The original film was nominated for an Oscar and the soundtrack was nominated for a Grammy.
6. “Pinocchio” (1940)
The fairy tale about a puppet who wants to be a real boy earned $559 million in receipts and has a rank of No. 39 overall. The film won two Oscars for music.
7. “Bambi” (1942)
The classic film that depicts a motherless deer in the woods, "Bambi" brought in $528 million in adjusted receipts and has a rank of No. 48 overall.

8. “Lady and the Tramp” (1955)
Another dog tale, "Lady and the Tramp" has $462 million in box office receipts and a rank of No. 70. Italy’s David di Donatello Awards honored the film as Best Foreign Production.
9. “Peter Pan” (1953)
Based on J. M. Barrie's classic story, "Peter Pan's" revenues at the box are $378 million, putting the movie at the rank of No. 119 overall. This film has also been re-done and turned into a musical.
10. “Beauty and the Beast” (1991)
The film earned $376 million at the box office and has a rank of No. 121 among the top movies of all time.
According to Box Office Mojo, "Beauty and the Beast" earned six Academy Award nominations and brought home two Oscars – one for Best Original Score and another for Best Original Song.
