Since tensions between the United States and Cuba have eased, the small island country to our south has been in headlines, on front pages, and on the air. Given the recent changes, there seems no better time to keep abreast of current events. When it comes to staying informed about national news in Cuba, here are eight ways to keep up with Cuban news in English.

1. The Guardian
This online paper offers “international news for a global audience,” including Cuba. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize in 2014, the news website covers sports, politics, religion, human interest pieces, and more.

2. The New York Times
Coverage of the U.S. and Cuba talks to restore diplomatic relations were front and center in the world section of this prestigious paper. News and reports on Cuba continue and are available any time online, or residents can opt for home delivery.

3. Miami Herald
Long regarded as a sort of Cuban haven in the United States, Miami – home to Little Havana – keeps residents up to date on Cuban happenings with the newspaper’s reporting on the economy, business, travel, and events in Cuba.

4. The Cuban News Agency
The Cuban News Agency offers Cuban news in English and three other languages: Spanish, French, and Russian. Articles, photos, and video about what’s happening in the country are all available online. Headlines in the past have included, “Cuba Champions Constructive Dialogue between Latin America and Europe” and “Cyber-espionage as a New Form of Domination.”

5. USA Today

6. Havana Times
Spanish and English speakers can keep up with Cuba with this site that provides “Open-minded writing from Cuba.” Local writers and photographers report on local events and news including farming, Internet access, and interviews.

7. Radio Havana Cuba
Available in eight languages, including English, Radio Havana Cuba, “A friendly voice around the world,” broadcasts news, music, talk radio, and more. Listeners can tune in online.
