Dick Morris to Newsmax: Trump Tapped Actors to Change Hollywood

By    |   Saturday, 18 January 2025 02:23 PM EST

Dick Morris, an adviser to President-elect Donald Trump and host of the Newsmax show "Dick Morris Democracy," says Trump has appointed three actors as "ambassadors" to Hollywood to reverse what Morris calls the nation's liberal-woke counterculture.

Morris told "Saturday Report" that Trump "appointed three actors — Sylvester Stallone, Jon Voight, and Mel Gibson — to be what he called his 'ambassadors to Hollywood.'"

"They're three conservative actors, and he's going to work with them to try to change Hollywood and to try to change the counterculture that dominates it."

Morris traced the origins of that counterculture to leftist movements of the 1950s and 1960s, pointing to Marxist philosopher Herbert Marcuse and his call for a "long march" through American institutions.

"They did," Morris said. "And that strategy has been in force. It really has resulted in the counterculture being so dominant."

Morris continued that Trump was now launching his own "long march" by enlisting the help of prominent conservative actors in Hollywood.

"What Trump is really doing is saying that we're going to have a long march of our own through American institutions and work on changing them," he said.

"It marks a significant expansion of the bully pulpit that the president represents, but it also shows a desire to make that kind of fundamental change in America and remove the efforts of the left to indoctrinate students, young people, and all Americans through mass media," he added.
