Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, a Republican, leads Sen. Jon Osoff, D-Ga., in a hypothetical U.S. Senate matchup in 2026, according to a new poll.
The poll was commissioned by the Club for Growth, conducted by WPA Intelligence, and shared with Politico. Osoff is expected to be a top target as Republicans look to expand their majority.
Kemp leads Osoff 46% to 40% with 14% undecided, according to the poll.
But against other Republican challengers, Osoff would prevail, the poll found. Osoff leads Rep. Buddy Carter by 13 points, Rep. Mike Collins by 10 points, Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John King by 16 points; Rep. Rich McCormick by 11 points, and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger by 14 points, Politico reported.
Kemp has not said if he will run for Senate but has mentioned wanting to run for president in 2028.
Osoff was elected to the Senate in January 2021, defeating incumbent Sen. David Perdue, R-Ga., in a runoff.
Overall, Kemp has a 58% favorability rating in Georgia, compared to 48% for President-elect Donald Trump and 45% for Osoff.
In the 2024 presidential election, Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris 50.7% to 48.5% in the state.
The poll of 500 likely Senate voters, conducted in mid-January, had a margin of error of 4.4 points, according to Politico.
