Donald Trump's refusal to declare whether he will accept the results of the presidential election is "irresponsible," Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker believes.

Lizzy Guyton, the communications director for Baker — a Republican who's on record as saying he won't cast his ballot for the GOP presidential candidate on Nov. 8 — told the Boston Globe:

"While elections are hard-fought contests, the strength of our nation's democratic system is based in part on the consent of all participants to honor the outcomes.

"The governor believes Mr. Trump's failure to concede this foundational principle of our nation's democratic system is irresponsible and another example of why he lacks the temperament to be president."

Trump caused an uproar when he was asked by moderator Chris Wallace of Fox News if he would accept the outcome of presidential race.

"I will look at it at the time," Trump said. "What I'm saying is that I will tell you at the time. I'll keep you in suspense."
