With Republican presidential candidate Sen. Rand Paul's poll numbers at an all-time low, leading to his being kicked off the main stage for the last GOP debate, former Rep. Ron Paul, the hopeful's father, told
Newsmax TV that at this point it would be "realistic" to say that Donald Trump is likely to be the nominee.
"At this point, it certainly is realistic," Ron Paul said Wednesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show."

However, he cautioned, "If I had a limited sum of money... I probably wouldn't invest a whole lot."
"There hasn't even been a vote cast; it's all been done by polling which, for the most part, it's generally rigged," he added.
Paul went on to discuss his son, who he believes still has wiggle room to rally and capture the GOP nomination.
"I think he may well surprise everybody because he has a good organization and caucus states are different," the former senator said. "That's where we always did well."
