Donald Trump is sending an ominous warning to the family that owns the Chicago Cubs after a report revealed its matriarch
forked over $3 million to a super PAC targeting the GOP presidential front-runner.
Trump's Monday tweet tells the Ricketts family "better be careful, they have a lot to hide."
Campaign finance reports show Marlene Ricketts, the wife of billionaire T.D. Ameritrade founder, J. Joe Ricketts, contributed the millions to Our Principles PAC, which have more than $4 million in anti-Trump ads, voter guides and mailers ahead of early voting contests in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.
Katie Packer, who helped manage Mitt Romney's 2012 presidential campaign,
runs the group.
The Ricketts family lives in Nebraska, where
son Pete Ricketts is governor.
