Three of Donald Trump's children have joined him on the campaign trail,
according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.
Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump, and Donald Trump, Jr. are also executives in Trump's real estate company, the Trump Organization. The campaign has succeeded with a small staff and now the three are appearing at events on behalf of their father.
"Dad prepared us our whole lives to run the business," said Donald Jr. "But politics? We jumped in with zero experience."
Eric Trump's inexperience was on display in a recent Fox News interview. He said waterboarding "is no different than what happens on college campuses and frat houses every day."
Donald Trump, Jr. referred to a Bernie Sanders supporter as the "Nazi Salute Woman," a person whose image had spread across social media. He apologized for the mistake,
reported the Chicago Tribune.
Eric Trump told CBS News that his father has done an "amazing service" for the Republican Party and the country. "People are finally engaged in politics," he said.
Ivanka Trump has appeared with her father at appearances, but said "I'm not looking to opine on policy." She just gave birth to her third child and said in Iowa, South Carolina, and New Hampshire that she wished she could have the baby there.
The three make campaign appearances with and without Donald Trump. Donald Jr. got endorsements for his father from NASCAR chairman Brian France and reality TV businessman Willie Robertson of "Duck Dynasty."
Mark McKinnon, host of the Showtime political show "The Circus," said Donald Jr. is "a naturally gifted politician."
Trump Jr. enjoys hunting.
In an interview with the Times-Leader, he said he takes his children hunting and fishing.
"It's a pretty big part of my life," he said, "Not just a soundbite."
