Pollster Matt Towery: Trump's Victory Allows Him to Storm Into SC

Donald Trump's strong finish in the New Hampshire primary Tuesday will put him in a three-way split for South Carolina's Republican vote on Feb. 20, pollster Matt Towery told Newsmax TV.

"It's going to be a result divided in three," Towery told host Ed Berliner on the "Newsmax TV 2016 New Hampshire Primary Special" in an interview. "You're going to have [Ted] Cruz doing much better in South Carolina because he did well enough in New Hampshire.

"You're going to have Trump doing well because there's a great populist sort of movement going through South Carolina. Much bigger than in the past."

"There's an establishment portion of the vote as well," Towery added. "One or two of these candidates are going to split that vote up down in South Carolina.

"Trump is going to get his third of the vote in South Carolina," he said. "It's going to put him in the perfect position to continue to do even better when he gets into these SEC primary states like Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee — where he's just going to really have a strong showing."
