Donald Trump and his campaign – after spending zero advertising dollars in the last quarter of the year – are reportedly ready to launch a pricey ad blitz that could cost at least $2 million a week.

Fox News analyst Howard Kurtz reports the first spots will focus on key issues – unless they veer into responses to any negative ads from GOP presidential primary rivals.

"If you attack Trump, he will attack you 10 times as hard," an unnamed Trump adviser tells Kurtz. "We will not allow any attack to go unanswered."

The campaign team is working with several politically savvy media companies, Kurtz reports, citing unnamed sources – and is ready to shell up to $100 million overall.

"Our Super PAC is Donald Trump's bank account," the adviser tells Kurtz, who reports no budget has been set and the ad is supposedly ready to launch "soon."

The campaign also refutes reports Trump's organization on the ground in Iowa – where polling shows just before Christmas that the real estate billionaire is tied with rival Texas Sen. Ted Cruz – and another early caucus state, Nevada, is lacking, Kurtz reports.

Trump advisers say they have 17 paid staffers in Iowa and 15 in New Hampshire, Kurtz reports.

"The new conventional wisdom is that he'll get creamed in the general election," Kurtz writes. Trump answered the question with a weekend tweet:

And Trump advisers warn the candidate's unorthodox campaign could change the electoral map – especially his appeal to blue-collar workers who are Democrats and independents.

"Trump's say-anything style could certainly create headaches for Clinton, an essentially conventional politician despite her ground-breaking gender," Kurtz writes.

"It's entirely possible that Trump will get shellacked if he wins the Republican nomination. But if the pundits' awful track record is any indication, all bets could be off."
