William Shatner turned up at the Comic-Con convention in San Diego last week in a wheelchair after injuring his leg in a horse-riding accident,
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
The 83-year-old "Star Trek" icon was wheeled onstage to appear alongside fellow acting veteran Betty White and "Scrubs" star Donald Faison for the Legends of TV Land panel at the convention, but he assured fans that he would bounce back from the incident, which took place the previous weekend.
"I was riding a horse and had an accident," he told the crowd. "The horse got off scot-free. I did not. I wrecked my leg."
But Shatner said the painful injury would not derail his plans to attend the annual Comic-Con bash, adding.
"I was not going to [miss Comic-Con]. In a couple of days I'll be fine, but right now I'm in a lot of pain," he said.
