NY Times Reports on RFK Jr. HHS Hit Letter

By    |   Monday, 13 January 2025 09:32 PM EST

On Monday, The New York Times reported that "a new national coalition of health professionals and scientists," some from "Yale and Harvard," had signed a letter to senators urging them not to confirm Kennedy's nomination.

However, among the 800 or so people who signed the letter written by the "Defend Public Health" coalition, a number of them included suspicious entries. Some of the names that signed the letter appeared to be duplicates, i.e., "Michelle Folsom" from Washington D.C., or "Melissa Ditmore;" one from "New York" and one from "New Year."

Other signees simply included a first name or an initial — lending no way to verify their credentials — such as "O.V." or "Maria" or "Aniqa" or "TN."

However, many such signees of the letter included MDs or PhDs next to their last name.

Health professionals and scientists aside, the coalition told The Times it had also generated "3,500 individual letters" urging senators not to confirm Kennedy, ostensibly from people not in the health industry. Upon entering credentials to sign one of these letters, Newsmax was met with a pre-scripted letter.

Both the letter signed by the health professionals and the script for the individual letters read the same, beginning:

"Mr. Kennedy is unqualified to lead the nation's health department with a budget of over $1.6 trillion and over 80,000 employees. He has little to no relevant administrative, policy or health experience or expertise that would prepare him to oversee the work of critical public health agencies."

The Times did note, however, that a group of 800 medical professionals in December signed on to a letter in support of Kennedy. Newsmax reached out to MAHA Action [Make America Healthy Again], who helped organize the letter, for a list of the medical professionals.
