Emanuel Says Not Subpoenaed in Blagojevich Case

Tuesday, 27 April 2010 12:11 PM EDT

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel says he hasn't been subpoenaed to testify at ousted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich's upcoming corruption trial.

Emanuel talked to reporters Tuesday after serving as a panelist at the Richard J. Daley Global Cities Forum in Chicago. Emanuel didn't say anything more about the Blagojevich case.

Last week, U.S Sen. Dick Durbin said he has been subpoenaed by Blagojevich's defense attorneys. Those attorneys are also trying to subpoena President Barack Obama.

Blagojevich has pleaded not guilty to charges that accuse him of trying to sell or trade Obama's old U.S. Senate seat. His trial is set to begin in June.
